I did a piece based on the same source material several years ago while still in Guatemala. I liked the composition, and I was curious to see how the same subject would work out years after on hot press paper. I was a bit hesitant to do a piece so similar to a previous work, particularly since this hot press takes so many layers to build up the color, but being in quarantine and isolation I’ve been reminiscing about Margie and our adventures in Guatemala. I think I’ve reached the half-way point, another few weeks to go….
